Text Box: Hips HIP stands for Home Information Pack and, due to a recent change in the regulations, nowadays all residential property will require a HIP when it is placed on the market.  The regulations are being phased in gradually and by the summer the position should be that the HIP will need to be in place even before the property is marketed. The Home Information Pack was bought in to meet European Regulations relating to providing more information for buyers about the energy efficiency of houses and, one of the requirements of the HIP is an Energy Performance Certificate.  In addition there are various other matters including searches and, it is hoped that the introduction of the HIP will speed up and simplify the conveyancing process.
